che giace sul marciapiede, la sua pancia incinta
rigonfiata in semisfere attorno una cicatrice scura
come una pesca attorno alla scanalatura profonda. Romanzieri
affollano gli autobus, petali sparsi e mucchi di spine
e larghe foglie stropicciate tappezzano l’area
di un mercato di fiori pienissimo durante il giorno. Ristorante giapponese.
L’ambasciata iraniana. Edifici adorni
di fiori tropicali e filo spinato. Guardavamo
film di Bollywood sottotitolati in spagnolo sulla TV sintonizzata
del tuo appartamento in subaffitto.
BOLLYWOOD, dove l’amore è la fantasia esuberante
di una canzone, dove una storia si interrompe prima di finire.

and broad bruised leaves carpet the lot
of a flower market that teems by day. Sushi joint.
Iranian embassy. Buildings trimmed
With tropical flowers and razor wire. We watched
Bollywood dubbed into Spanish on the dial-tune TV
in your sublet apartment.
BOLLYWOOD, where love is an exuberant fantasy
of song, where a story stops before it ends.
